Hello! I’m Crystal Dawn and I’m one of the authors in the Realm of Midnight boxed set.
My book in the collection is Rafe and it will be the first of my Alpha Bad Boys Series. Rafe showed up in one of my other books were he was one of the bad guys. He's not really evil, but at the same time he wasn't really good either. Because he's attractive, he seems to get whatever he wants to the point that he began to expect it. His ego took a bit of the hit and now he's back home trying to figure out what went wrong and make a new plan for his life.
Angie is a white wolf. white wolves are a strong bloodline that many alphas wished to mate with. She doesn't really believe all that paranormal bullshit and if it's true she doesn't really want to know. It's all her family talks about and she feels like that might be a big part of why she has burned out on her art and can't seem to come up with a painting that pleases her high standards. She decides to get away to the most remote place she can find so no one can find her. All she is going to do for three months is work on her art and relax.
Her bad luck is that she's dropped right into Rafe’s backyard and the house that she is renting belongs to the pack that he runs. It's anybody's guess what's going to happen when these two run into each other.
Joining the set was one of the most spontaneous decisions I had probably ever made. I've gotten other emails to join sets and I usually just delete those because there is a tremendous amount of work that goes in to being a member of any box set. This time for some reason I read the e-mail and signed up. I'm usually not that crazy really.
I love being an author because I have this crazy imagination and for some reason it's a relief to be able to put it into a book and share it with others. But I was a reader first and I'm still a reader. I like giving other readers the chance to see a little bit of hillbilly humor and I hope that I can give them a story that they will enjoy especially if they are having a hard time of things or life has let them down. That is because I believe in happy endings and wish everyone could have one.
There are so many tropes I can't even keep up with all of them. Probably the main one in this story is bad boy gone good. Another one might be trying to run away from something only to run right into it. That is kind of what Angie does because she doesn't believe in what her family stands for or what they are trying to do. But when she meets Rafe, she discovers not only the truth of it but that she has a part to play in it too.
Halloween can be such a fun holiday. You have the scary hayrides because we have a zombie hayride in the next town over that is so popular. The weather changes and it gets cooler and usually a little wind goes with that. A nice wind without a bad storm is almost magical. When I was younger, I would have said I like the candy best. Now, they have so many recipes to try, so maybe it's the good food that I like best. On the other hand, this is a good month for scary and even funny Halloween movies. I recently watched the new Hocus Pocus and I loved it. I love the old one too.
When she’s not out hunting rogue vampires and werewolves, you can find Crystal Dawn out exploring the galaxy. She can do it all without ever leaving her computer. She kicks ass, takes names, and puts it all down for the enjoyment of her readers. She has always told stories and even written some, but publishing books didn't start until 2012 with The Rebirth, the first of the Planet Amazon books.
Secretly, she crushes on all her sexy heroes because all her stories end happily. That is one of the things that makes writing such a joy. Knowing that it makes her reader's day a little brighter.
When she started writing, she decided on going Indie after the first two books because an author has more control. She believes Indie will compete well and continues to grow. The need to give pleasure to her readers keeps her going and she sees a long career ahead. Growing up mostly in the NW Arkansas area, it has given her a good place to set some stories and many of her characters come from there or nearby SW Missouri.
The start of her stories is the easy part. Finishing them is a little harder when all the stories are in there trying to get out. She loves reading, chocolate, fine sweet wine, and traveling among a large list of pursuits. Her favorite people, after her family and close friends, are her readers who she says are some of the most wonderful people in this galaxy and the next.
