Interview with USA Today Bestselling Author Alice Ivinya
Whispers of Ebony by Alice Ivinya A YA short romantic fantasy following the stories of Hai Rong and Ju from the Kingdom of Birds and Beasts Trilogy.
Hai Rong, trusted guard of the Queen, has only ever had eyes for Ju. He’s sure he’s made his intentions toward the innkeeper clear, but she keeps pushing him away. Is there any way he can win her heart? Or is he simply not the right man for her? Zhou Ju chose her life alone running an isolated inn for a reason: she likes to be left in peace. If anyone gets too close, they might discover secrets she wishes to keep hidden. That includes a certain loud, cheeky guard who visits far more than he should. Her life is perfect, so why does her heart feel like it is about to break?
Tell us a bit about you:
Alice is a USA Today bestselling author. She is also an award winning international and Barnes and Noble bestseller.
She lives in Bristol, England. She is wife to Sam, mummy to their toddler and owns the best dog in the world, Summer. She has loved fantasy all her life and her favorite author is Brandon Sanderson. When she's not off galavanting in other worlds, she loves walking the dog and spending time with her church family.
Alice hopes to change the world for the better, one word at a time.
Why mythical creatures?
I love mythical animals and the way they can make shivers of wonder trail down your spine. I think that is the reason why they are in every culture and have survived thousands of years in legends.
What inspired this story?
This story is a standalone linked to the Birds and Beasts trilogy which was inspired by the Grimm’s Fairytale, The Goose Girl. There was not enough room for Hai Rong and Ju’s story in Kingdom of Feathers, so I decided to give it my full attention as a novella.
What can we expect from this collection?
