Hello everyone. My name is Michelle Hoffman and I'm the owner of Michelle's Edits. I'm a stay at home freelance editor and author who loves 80s rock, classic rock, and my fur babies.

3. How did you get started with editing?
During the final years of my mother's life, I was her primary caretaker 24/7, which meant I was mostly homebound with her. Being an avid reader, I would look for any free books I could get my hands on. This led to me also acting as a beta reader for different authors. Author Emma Alisyn sent me an email back after I sent her my suggestions and told me that I wasn't just beta reading, I was line editing and it was a paid job. She helped me get started with word of mouth and set up a website which I never use.
4. What are your goals for 2022?
I would love to expand the editing business to bring in reliable income and when I'm not editing, I wish to be writing or reading. My best tip for someone new to hiring editors is to not wait until the last minute to have a document edited before it needs to be published. Some editors have bookings that go out for months.
