What inspired you to write this story? After I wrote “The Grimoire’s Key” several readers asked for another Kayla and Mateo story.

Kayla! She is so much fun to write! She’s a former thief who sometimes misses the adventure of her old life, but has enough on her plate as a single mom. A widow who maintains a friendship with her pushy mother-in-law. And Kayla has smoldering chemistry with Mateo.
