Interview with Author Cassie Greutman

  • Tell us a bit about you: I

’m a small-town Ohio girl who loves stories in any form and horses. Not sure which comes first.

  • Why mythical creatures?

My love of mythical creatures started with unicorns, moved on to dragons, and has expanded to cover almost anything at this point. I love the thought of beings out there that we don’t know about, who only show themselves to the person who was made to be theirs.

  • What inspired this story?

I’ve always wanted a sea creature! As a kid I would make up stories about one finding their way through the water table to our pond, and how we would become the best of friends when it did.

  • What can we expect from this collection?

A whole lot of magical things!

  • Where can we find more of your work?

You can visit, or my books are available at any major place that sells books.

A bit about Cassie's story in Mythical Creatures: Sea Monster’s Song.

Something has been visiting in the bay outside Jenna’s cabin at night. Something she has been trying to get a picture of, sure that it’s the next big discovery. Until it takes out a coast guard chopper, killing one and wounding two others. Now a guardsman is trying to find out the truth of how is friend died, and the only person who saw anything was the one who pulled him out of the water, Jenna.
