Tell us a bit about you:
My name is Katie Jenkins. I write under the acronym of K.M. Jenkins. Ben Merical is my fiancé and we have been together for over six years. We have twin boys that are 4 years old. I’ve been an author for a little over a year now. Starting out with writing short stories.
Ben started things off with writing comic books. He hasn’t worked on his comics of late and we both love creating stories. This is why we teamed together to write this YA Horror story. We were going for a campfire type feel and think we got it with Gracie and Rob’s adventure.
Why mythical creatures?
We are big fantasy nuts. In most of our stories we have some type of mythical creature taking center stage. This story is no different and fits well with the “Mythical Creatures” box set.
What inspired this story?
Together we were making lists of ideas for stories to feature in a box set with only YA Horror stories by us. But we decided to branch out first and publish within other authors’ sets. This story was a take on the mischievous nature of fairies and pixies. We had the story go several ways, but in the end we came out with something great.
What can we expect from this collection?
There are over a dozen authors featured in Mythical Creatures. You will find all types of mythical creatures featured in short stories and novellas. I’ll even bet you will find some new authors to stock.

A bit about Darkest Delights in Mythical Creatures:
Gracie is new to Medge Pond and the mysteries that hide in their nearby forest. She lost her mother and now lives with her Aunt Margaret. Margaret is stirn and has one major rule, “Don’t go in the forest.”
Gracie, now left to her own wandering, finds herself making a new friend. Rob is a troublemaker and Gracie joins in on the ride. But one wrong move leaves them in deadly company inside the very forest they were supposed to stay out of.
The question that remains now is who will live and who will die?
